Alpine Bursaries

Ross Larway Bursary
Application required; deadline: September 30

To commemorate Ross Larway’s contribution to TSC, and his support of athletic development, the TSC Ross Larway Bursary was created. The bursary is designed to support those athletes who recognize TSC as their "Home Club" and have moved onto Developmental, Provincial and/or National Ski/Snowboard Team(s) beyond the U16 (Club) programming.

The bursary is open to athletes who:
  • Recognize Toronto Ski Club as their Home Club on their registration forms; and
  • Have qualified for a Developmental, Provincial and/or National Ski or Snowboard Team beyond U16 club programming; and
  • Continue to represent TSC while competing beyond the club level.
To be considered for the Ross Larway Bursary, athletes must submit the following to the Head Coach by September 30:

  • Completed Bursary Application Form
  • Documentation confirming their continuing program registration and commitment
Applications will be reviewed by the TSC Alpine Committee, with bursary funds awarded to selected recipient(s) based on the established bursary criteria and funding formula.

Developing Champions Bursary
Application required at the time of qualification

The TSC Developing Champions Bursary is designed to support TSC athletes pursuing excellence in high performance, alpine sports by assisting with the additional costs often required for championship level events. To be considered for the bursary, the recipient may come from the ranks of TSC's U14 or U16 Competitive Ski, Snowboard or Freestyle program who represents TSC at an international or championship level event.

  • National Championships
  • Whistler Cup, if selected to represent Team Ontario or Team Canada
  • International Children's Championships, as a Team Canada member
  • Can-Am or "Eastern Championships"
  • Selection to Provincial or National Team projects
  • Other projects/events may be considered based on the evidence and circumstances provided
Athletes must apply in writing to the Head Coach and provide all relevant supporting documentation. Bursary awards are subject to the approval of the TSC Alpine Committee.
 

Craig Fujino Bursary 
Nomination Process

Members of the Toronto Ski Club and the friends of the Fujino Family have developed the The Craig Fujino Bursary for the purpose of establishing ongoing annual funding to a young TSC member, in memory of Craig Fujino. To be considered for the bursary, the recipient may come from the ranks of any of TSC's U14 and under programs, all program streams.

  • An upbeat and positive attitude
  • Fellowship and teamwork
  • A supportive attitude toward others
  • Strong skiing skills
  • Helps create a positive environment
  • Supports other members of the team
  • Exemplifies the TSC Athlete Code of Conduct
This bursary is nomination-based. Coaches and instructors may nominate an athlete by submitting their recommendation to the Head Coach and Snow School Director for consideration, and the bursary is awarded at the Alpine Programs Banquet.
